Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode, we enhance the ExploreForYou section by displaying posts directly inside the component and giving them a clean styled layout. We also build a new WhoToFollowModal that fetches suggested users from the backend, shows them in a compact layout, and provides a quick way to connect with more people. To support this, we update the ExploreSlice with new async logic to fetch trending topics and posts, ensuring smoother data handling. Finally, we introduce the ExploreTrending component, complete with styling and integration into the ExploreContent section, resulting in a richer discovery experience that combines posts, topics, and follow suggestions all in one place.
